William Joseph, known as "Will", married Sarah Emma Agnew in 1881. Sarah Emma's family had moved to the Paris, Arkansas, area from Walker County, Georgia, in 1869. She was reported to be of Indian ancestry. Sarah Emma died in childbirth with their third child. Will married Martha Jane Oliver in 1888. Will and Martha had five sons.
