- Notes:
Lowell lived and farmed near Aldrich, Missouri, all his life. His avocation was breeding registered Tennessee walking horses, and his horses have won recognition and awards through the years. He currently has four beautiful mares of which he is very proud. He suffered two strokes during 1998 and was cared for by Frances. He always retained a delightful sense of humor.
Down the road from Lowell is the Kinder School. It is a red brick country school where he attended classes. His mother, Nannie, taught there before she and Thomas Alexander were married. According to Martha Dunn, "It was named for great-grandmother Kinder's brother, Jim, who owned the farmland adjoining and donated the school year." It isn't used anymore except to store hay.
