• Notes: John inherited a tract of land from his father which was bounded roughly by Taylor Blvd., Peachtree, Bluegrass, and Lynhurst. The family attended a Baptist Church which was located at Bluegrass and Wheeler. When the congregation built a new church, the new building was built at Taylor and Lynhurst on land previously owned by John. A small house on the new church lot was moved to back of Ed Rubel's at 1501 Bluegrass. After John died, Mary married Lige Cundiff, a widower with four small children, and moved into this house.
  
  John bought four acres on Hazelwood after selling his inherited tract, and built his house, which is across from Hazelwood Court. He truck-farmed this lot plus some land rented from his mother-in-law. At least one of his children, John, was born here. John worked as a County road supervisor, and he kept the County mules in his barn.
