An 1886 newspaper clipping states: Golden Wedding at Oxford -- Just half a century ago Benjamin W. Oakford and Anna Churchman were married at Darby. Then he was a young man of twenty-two and she a girl of twenty. On Wednesday, the fiftieth anniversary of the wedding was celebrated at Oxford and the aged couple received even warmer wished, if possible, for their happiness than when they were married fifty years ago. Present were Martha Baker of Chester, William L. Oakford
of Philadelphia, and Charles Lloyd of Darby who had signed the certificate fifty years ago.
