• Notes: Rufus Jackson Churchman and his brother, William Montgomery, married sisters, Rachel and Mary Jane Kinder. Rufus and Rachel Churchman named their first daughter after Rachel's sister, Mary Jane. William M. and Mary Jane Churchman named their first daughter after Mary Jane's sister, Rachel.
  
  In the 1850 Tennessee Census, R.J. lived with his wife, Rachel, and their first six children in Jefferson County, TN. In the 1860 Tennessee Census, R.J., his wife, and all eleven children lived in Coffee County, TN. The twins were only 4 months old at the time the census was taken.
  
  Sometime before 1870, R.J. and his family moved back to Grainger County, TN. According to the 1870 Tennessee Census, both R.J. and his son, Jacob, were farmers and his wife keep house. Jacob, Thomas, Stephen, Aaron, and Sarah lived with their parents, R.J. and Rachel. William, Mary Jane, and Joseph had married and were no longer living with their parents.
  
  By the 1880 Tennessee Census, Rachel was living in Franklin County with her twins, her married son, William H. Churchman, and her married daughter Mary Jane Wiley. William H. had his own four children living with him. Mary Jane had her son, Thomas, living with her. There is no mention of R.J. or William's wife or Mary Jane's husband.
