• Notes: Preston Mitchell was the son of Greenberry Mitchell who was considered to be one of the wealthiest men in Grainger County at the time of his death. Preston was a farmer and deputy sheriff. He and his wife, Rachel Churchman, and 3 sons moved to Greenfield, Missouri. In Dade County, Missouri, he was a deputy sheriff for many years. Preston died and was buried there. Rachel moved back to Tennessee where she died several years later.
