In the Name of God Amen.
I Thomas Churchman of Grainger County and State of Tennessee being of Sound & perfect mind & memory blessed be God for the Same do this 10th Day of January 1827 make & Ordain this to be my last Will & Testament in the following manner that is to Say
first - I give and bequeath to my loving wife One Negro man Named Cuff an Other Named Ben and girl Named Flora as her own right & property to dispose of as she thinks proper also a Negro boy named Bob to be under his Mistress's Care until he is twenty one years old and then he is to be free also five head of Cattle of her own Choice three head of horses of her own Choice Six head of Sheeps - eight killing hogs ten Shoats a Sow & piggs & all my house hold & Kitchen furniture One bed & bed Stead excepted. My said wife is also to have all my farming utensils. My waggon I leave between my wife & my Son Edward. I also leave my wife One hundred Dollars in Silver and I also leave her my home plantation as long as She remains my widow after which it is to belong to my Son Edward. I also give her my big Crib full of Corn out of the present Crop & one fourth of the crop of wheat that is now growing the rest of my Corn to be Sold the balance of the wheat to be divided between my Son Edward & Nancy Fargerson. My yoke of Oxen Stays on the place at my wifes disposal also my best rifle gun & two bee gums,
Secondly - I give & bequeath to my Son Edward One Negro Boy named Jim and one Negrow Woman Named Nicy One Negro boy Named Henry and one girl Named Lily.
Thirdly - I give and bequeath to grand Son Thomas Fargerson and My grand daughter Peggy Mitchell My lower plantation of Eighty eight acres to be equally divided as long as either thinks proper. to live on it & pay the Taxes if they leave it Said land descends to my Son Edward Churchman
Fourthly - I give & bequeath to my Daughter Nancy Fargerson one Negrow Woman Named Grace and one Negrow woman Named Sall. one bed & furniture & bed Stead.
Fifthly - I give & bequeath to my Daughter Rebeccah Hodge fifty acres of land Whereon She now lives as long as she will pay the Taxes & live on it if she leaves it then it descends to my Son Edward Churchman also two Sows & pigs One Cow & Calf and fifty dollars in Money.
Sixthly - I will that all the rest of my effects that has not been here to fore Named be Sold and that the amount of money arising therefrom together with the balance of cash on hand be equally divided between my Wife My Son Edward & my daughter Nancy Fargerson One bee gum to Edward & one to Nancy excepted each Negro is to have there portion along with them.
lastly - I here by make and Ordain Reuben Nance and James Hamilton Executors of this my last Will and Testament in Witness Where of I the Said Thomas Churchman have to this my last Will & Testament Set my hand and Seal the day and year above written
